I frequently use the method of group work in class, because :

- children work with more pleasure in a group than alone;

- children in need prefer asking for help  to their classmates, rather than to the teacher;

- pupils feel freer to share their own ideas in small groups;

- I can control the activities in a better way;

- there's more fun to share the success with classmate

- if the group is not able to find the solution, the disappointment will be shared.

My pupils often work in pairs to solve short and fast math problems or to help each other in the calculation. Usually one acts as a tutor, so I put together children with difficulties with children who are able to help them.

Groups of four or five are used to create larger projects. Kids work together to find solutions to complex problems.

I usually prefer to compose mixed groups, both for the gender and for the abilities.

I never used tablets in my class. We have no possibilities for it...no tablets, weak wifi signal. But I think it would be very important to:

- fix a time limit (in agreement with the kids or not);

- divide the tasks into smaller sub-objectives to assess easily at what point the work is;

- fix self-assessment tests, so that the kids can control how the work proceeds and how much involved they are;

- change times and ways in case the checks gave negative results.

I'm registered in e-Twinning for some tears, but I haven't tried any project yet. I hope this will be a good imput for me to experience it.

Success factors:

- the teacher's convinction;

- collaboration with colleagues of their school;

- spend time, even outside school hours

- not surrender to the difficulties

I teach in a primary school and I think that ask children in which way they learn is not enough. In different experiences they might give different answers.

Here are some ways to identify learning strategies:

- Propose similar activities, but with different tools (by reading a text, listening to an audio, viewing a video, handling concrete material..);

- Offer specific questionnaire ;

- Talk with parents about their child experiences;

In my class, we used Snappet's tablets. Children do their exercises online each one on his own tablet and get an immediate feedback on their answers, can progress as soon as they understand something, and learn at their own pace. As a series of individualized exercises this type of tablet is definitely good and can help children to improve and learn at their own pace. But definitely this type of tablet is the exact opposite of everything I've learned so far during our course. That's why I think that, for a good personalised learning, collaborative learning ensures better results even on an emotional level.

Maybe level groups can be a good solution for personalized learning.

Great idea! I would really like to try it in my classes...but I was thinking about it...I teach math in a primary school...How could I flip my classroom?

These would be my first steps:

- involve my colleagues in this new and exciting project;

- start with a basic task;

- propose an immediate self-assessment to monitor how the children have gone through this experience.

Tablets in school:
