In all three stories, Lovecraft employs an unsettling and ominous tone to create a sense of dread and horror. The endings of each story leave the reader with a feeling of unease and uncertainty, suggesting that the forces of darkness are still at work and that humanity is ultimately powerless to resist them. In this way, the ending of "The Ballad of Black Tom" differs from the endings of Lovecraft's stories in that it provides a resolution that is not wholly bleak. Malone covered Tommy and Suydam. In "Agents of Dreamland," the Signalman covers the events on the ranch and what Sexton gave him.

Theme- Mystery was the main theme of these pieces of work. In the first two books, the characters go into depth learning about Cthulhu and the Great Ones. In "Agents of Dreamland," the characters learn about the cloud and the fungus.

Setting- All three books have a darkness/mysteriousness to them. In the first book, the police go into a dark, mysterious forest/jungle with the cult. In the second book, there is the last part in the dark basement with the ominous. The cities/locations have some dystopian attributions with them.
