Hi!!
I’m writing to plead for Reed’s English teacher Mrs. M to stay with his class the remainder of the school year . She is an OUTSTANDING human and highly knowledgeable teacher. I can’t stress enough what a huge impact she has had on Reed so far this year. The pandemic basically put a stop to his 8th grade English learning and any academic exposure . I feel he started this year lost, lost in lack of enthusiasm for the subject and zero interest in reading . Mrs. M has sparked back up his motivation by her skilled way of relating and presenting info that he is already on book three this year! She has been able to motivate and encourage him during the most challenging time of his academic career . This  is invaluable to us! I am certain there will be regression if a new teacher and relationship have to start all over now. Reed has made huge gains in his commitment to his education due to the high quality of his ENTIRE team and their true commitment to their students. I will communicate my concerns to anyone I need to in order to advocate for Reed to have continued success in having Mrs M as a teacher. She has also supported his 504 accommodations on her own by brainstorming and checking in about how he is hearing her. Lastly she has such an investment in student learning and momentum that she hand delivered the next book being assigned !!! She is already an invaluable part of Reeds educational support team and we need her to continue in order for him to remain successful.

Run don’t walk to see today’s #teacherfeature in action. Science department superstar Mr Migliore is a force of nature. He works tirelessly to give his students lots of learning experiences outside of the classroom. Whether it is bringing them to the Peabody Museum, CT Science Center, or Sleeping Giant, this master teacher is doing his part to help his students be inquisitive individuals. He is often found after school running with the track team. Each year, Mrs. Stiltner creates a writing celebration for her students. She invites educators from across the school to come in and write compliments on each of her student's pieces that they choose to showcase. Mrs. Stiltner transforms her classroom for this event: covering her tables with tablecloths, bringing in fancy finger foods, and covering the room with posters of famous writers. Though we are in a remote teaching model, Mrs. Stiltner is fully committed to crafting a virtual writing celebration for her students this year.
