         <title>INTRODUCTION        The Civil War ended in April 1965, when General Robert E. Lee surrendered at the Appomatax Court House.  Over 620,000 died during the war.  The country was now faced with the challenge of figuring out a way to regroup, pick up the pieces, integrate and reunite.   See Video below for an overview. </title>
