He attempted to allow for selective logging of the Tasmania's World Heritage area however failed. He would be stripping 74,000 hectares of land from the world heritage listingTony Abbott made it clear that he wanted to restore the damage to the Tasmanian forestry industry which resulted in loss of thousands of local jobs done by the Federal and State labour.
