I think that the story is about someone moving into a new town and is treated without kindness because they are different. I think this because of the cover of the book I see someone walking towards a house. The person is all alone and it is becoming night time outside.

At the beginning of the story the readers are informed of the setting, Conor's bedroom/house. The readers also learn about Conor's nightmares. The reader learners that Conor frequently has nightmares that seem very real. Conor has a good relationship with his mom but is afraid to tell her about his nightmares. At the end of the second chapter, when Conor is leaving for school, his mom informs him about his grandmother coming over. Conor does not like when his grandmother comes over, and thinks that the nightmare will occur in his room again when she is sleeping in there.

They started picking on him when he fist started having the bad dreams, they pick on him for no reason. The monster his backyard wants to tell him three stories, but Conor disagrees with the monster, just like he disagrees with his grandmother.

Conor's life experiences have impacted him in many ways. His experiences mostly impacts the way other people see, talk, and look at him. The way he is treated causes him to feel, and act invisible. He doesn't like to raise his hand in class, he doesn't like to go up to groups of people/groups of friends, and he doesn't even look at or care about when people whisper about him behind his back. He just likes to be alone.

I predict that the monster will fix Conor's grandmother's ancient clock. I also predict that the monster will teach Conor to be kind to his grandmother, and to be brave. I think this because what the monster said in his first story related to some things in Conor's life. One of the things was his grandma coming to live with Conor and his mom.

Why do you think the grandma acted the way she did? I think that she acted the way she did because all of her stuff she owns is valuable. She also acted like this because the stuff she has at her house keeps/gives her company when no one is home. Her belongings are some of her most valuable things beside for her daughter, and grandson.

The monster beat Harry up for Conor to make the people see Conor and let them know that he is not invisible. The monster also told Conor that being invisible is not that bad.

How does each tale embody Conor's experiences? Analyze each individual tale.
In the first the tale the monster talked about how the prince and king had a set plan for prince to become king. Sadly, this was then ruined by the king's death, and caused the queen to become the king/ruler. This related to Conor's experiences because he already had everything under control and a plan set for his mom and for himself. His plan was then ruined by his grandmother.
The second tale the monster told to Conor related to Conor's experiences. The second tale was about how the parson was only nice to the Apothecary when he needed the Apothecary to save his daughters. This related to Conor's experiences because Conor needed help from the Yew Tree to help his mom feel better.
The third tale the monster told Conor related to Conor's experiences. The third tale the monster told Conor was about a person who was not "seen" by others. The monster helped that person become "seen" by others. This related to Conor's experiences because at school he was treated differently and ignored by the other kids and teachers at his school. Conor wanted to be seen by them. Because of this the monster helped Conor beat up Harry when he was bullying Conor.

If you could re-cast/revise one character, who would it be? What changes would you make? Why?
If I could re-cast/revise one character I would choose Conor. One change I would make to his part in the movie is that I would have had him like his grandma more. In the movie and story, Conor does not like his grandma. He doesn't like when she comes to his and his mom's house, and he doesn't like when is at her house or spending time with her. I would change this about his character because I think if he actually likes her, he would be able to have someone to talk to about his mom. Also, if he had a good relationship with his grandmother he wouldn't smashed all of her furniture and personal items.
