If the producers were reduced in half, the food chain and food web will be unbalanced. The primary producers will have less food and energy, leading to the population decreasement. The population of secondary consumers will also decrease since they feed on primary consumers, who's population has decreased due to the producers reducing by half. Furthermore, the tertiary consumers will also be getting less energy with the descreasing population. Finally, the apex predators's population number will also decrease. If all the grass in puente hills reduced by a half, the population of squirrels, who are herbivores and feed on grass, will be reduced. The foxes, who are omnivores and feed on the squirrels, will be hungry and their population will also decrease. At last, the population of coyotes, who mostly eat meat and feed on the foxes, will decrease. This is an example of how the food chain will be affected if the number of producers are reduced by a half. The problem will worsen if the producer is fed on by multiple different species of primary consumers, since more populations will decrease and some species may be extinct. The decreasement of any population is like taking out an ingredient out from a cake, because even if it's only less sugar or whatever ingredient, the cake is not completed/tasts not as good. If the population of producers were reduced by a half, then the entire food chain/ food web will be unbalanced.

If the amount of Producers were reduced by half, the food chain and food web will change. For example, if it died the consumers that feed on it - rabbits, insects and slugs - would have no food. They would starve and die unless they could move to another habitat. All the other animals in the food web would die too, because their food supplies would have died out. The populations of the consumers would fall as the population of the producer fell. Another example, Slugs, rabbits and insects all eat grass. If there were fewer slugs there would be more grass for the rabbits and insects. With more food the populations of rabbits and insects would increase. However, the thrushes would have to eat more insects to maintain their population, so it is also possible that the population of insects could decrease.

If the amount of producer were reduced by half, the food chain/food web will go out of place. For example, if the western sycamore, mule fat, Jimson weed, giant needle grass, pitseed goosefoot and laurel sumac reduced by half, the organism that eat these plants will died from hunger. The population of these organism will drop. This situation will affect the entire food web, the consumer that died will affect the secondary consumer, tertiary consumer, and the apex predator. This situation will happen until no more organism and plants are alive anymore. In this case, the human population will gone down too. Every organism get their energy from plants, so if the plants reduced by half or goes extinct, there will be no more us

If the amount of producers in Puente Hills were reduced by half, almost all of the animals in Puente Hills and around the place would be affected. Once the plants get reduced by half, herbivores who eats the plants would starve and even die. Since the plants only has 50 percent of what it used to have, herbivores would have 50 percent. And once the herbivores's population gets reduced, that would affect the carnivores too. And once the carnivores die, tertiary consumers would starve. Just like that the whole entire food web would be affected. Every organism gets its energy from the plants, so it were to be reduced by half, there would not be a healthy ecosystem. So plants are very important in the food web and ecosystem.
