Sts use the language they already know but they don t try to use new language.I want to explore how we can encourage the sts speak Eng more instead of Turkish

Sts are afraid of making mistakes while speaking new language. They think that when they make mistakes, their friends will laugh. They are shy and they dont want to speak in front of the class.Sts use English only for feedback and answers. They dont want to speak during the task.

The most useful idea is to build confidence while sts are speaking. We should increase sts speaking confidence by giving attention to their preparation time.Sts should know the aim of the activity. They must have a reason for communication. So teachers should plan step by step.

The language used in coursebook listening activities are more understandable by the students. The speeches are slow, short and simple. The accent is understandable.

Authentic materials are real life English, not artificial. They make communication real.

We can develop more active listening skills by using songs, cartoons, announcement, weather forecast,by exposing students real life English. While doing listening activities,We can do group work.Because students feel comfortable .We dont want the students to understand all listening part . We expect them to understand the gist .Activies such as Gap filling, matching, filling the chart,true-false activity, open ended questions help students improve their listening skills

As a warm up activity ,I can start the Lesson with Tarzan conversations as a pair work in peder to understand what sts know already.I also liked collocations matching a lot and can be used as a post activity. While giving new words , I can use real objects, draw picture, real objects and mime, give the synonyms and antonyms of the words, translate and use in sentences.By doing these,I should make sts personalise the words. For meaning ,I can ask checking questions. We shouldn’t give the meaning of the new word directly,we should make the sts ask the questions about the word.Dolmuş game is my favourite .My sts like energetic games. By this game , sts check what they have known already and will add a new word.I can also write sentences with errors and want sts to correct them . I will use labelling, categorising, process ordering, odd one out and grid activities in teaching vocabulary .As an online game , I use wordwall, learningapps and blooket .My sts like digital games a lot.

I can plan the grammar activities as first controlled, then guided and freer activities finally. As a controlled activity,I elicit, model and want sts to do the same.Maybe , I want sts to “find someone who”task. As a guided activity,I give the half of the sentence and want sts to complete the other half.Maybe,I want sts to work in pairs or group work and give the problem and want sts to answer it.As freer activities,I give sts a topic and sts use and practise the new language.By this way, grammar lessons become more communicative and enjoyable.Sts should discover the grammar rules for themselves than be led to them.I can give a text or dialogue and set a task to help them workout the new grammar points and the meaning. It makes the lesson more memorable and meaningful.

After my group have been assigned a venue by the district directorate of national education, my role is to be ready that day/time for the meetings.I should actively collaborate with the other teachers and share experiences at these meetings.I should engourage and support teachers to reflect on the meeting and plan new activities for their classrooms.I am not an expert , I am a Teacher like them and we work together and teach and learn reciprocally.

I feel a bit anxious about I will do good.Because I am together with my colleagues and I know that They tell me many problems I know while teaching English.
