My suggestion would be to post the ideas on the Blackboard DB for CAP7A and then use this padlet for posting our respective tasks ie research undertaken, designs etc.

Subject to the implementation of ideas in the Discussion Board post below, I would think that the region of the world, or the number of countries that you would like to focus should be your decision, since as Carol has stated, we have a million elves to do do the tasks that we can't all do.

"I was thinking along the same general idea as well - multiple locations.

Another idea to contemplate on is that these events don't necessarily need all need to held on the same day, or in the same time-period.

Maybe smaller ones - more close knit, could be held over various weekends and places throughout the course of the year, as suggested by Leia, and larger ones that extend over a week, as suggested by Danielle, to be held during school holidays. This technique could also benefit those that prefer the more intimate gatherings, and the larger ones for those that prefer the buzz and excitement of larger crowds.

Using this idea could include a role that organizes events and activities - Danielles idea of treasure hunts (physical or digital style) could be held one time, dress-ups another time, etc"

The idea is to have a slide show of pictures of people from different ethnic groups, get in contact with different community groups around Perth, in order to gather information about their most relevant celebrations, arts and what make their culture stand out from other cultures around the world.
I also want to display some valuable art objects from the cultures on display plus information about the objects, like how are they made, how traditional they are and, how old the object is.
Another aspect that can be incorporated in the display is language.

I know we said last night that we focus on the minority nationalities, but I am now thinking we need to reach out to everyone. A lot of these groups have groups that we can hypothetically reach out to, to become involved. Especially for the large 7 day event. I think the smaller sessions need to focus on the minor nationalities, but if its going to be a multicultural celebration, we need to include everyone.

As explained on blackboard, this is not the complete research findings and I will continue over the weekend to completed this. These pages show what the population of each nationality is in Perth, where they reside, the median age, what language they speak and what religion they practice. I wanted to include some information on the national dress and dance etc but looking at what everyone has submitted, I don't think it is necessary for me to double up. If you think I need to add any more, please let me know and I will upload the final one by Sunday.

Globe Hoppers encourages schools, families and children to experience the many cultures on display. To assist with moving Around The World in 7 Days’ or just for the day, children will be provided with a pack containing a passport, boarding pass, map and letter explaining how to get the most out of this adventure.  
 
The pack will be presented in a suit case made to look slightly worn, assuming the many stories it has to tell. The pack will complement the overall event colours however seen through a child's eyes.
 
To ensure that the children or students interact with the event the map will be user friendly and colour coded to identify countries represented and where there are located around Northbridge. 
 
After visiting a demonstration or activity the ambassador will stamp the young person’s passport and welcome them to return and ask questions as often as they like.

When appropriate the ambassadors will be an adult and youth. The art activities will be simple but meaningful, designed to engage children of all ages. Our objective was to bring cultural awareness to the Perth community in an event that would span over one year.  The HLP would begin with a great seven day celebration through the streets of Nortbridge, Around the World in Seven Days, showcasing a multicultural Perth and setting the foundation for community, acceptance and belonging. Following the extravaganza a number of Human Library Hubs will pop up in local communities, giving opportunities to listen to stories of those who chose to call W.A home and reset assumption of unfamiliar cultures.
