The Kuih Lab is a small campus-based business that sells traditional Malaysian kuih (local cakes) to students at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), emphasizing the authentic flavors that are a staple snack among Malaysians. This business aims to introduce Malaysian kuih by offering three main types: kuih seri muka, nona manes, milk donuts (donut susu), and caramel donuts (donut karamel). The kuih are sourced directly from a local supplier, Puan Zunaidahtia from Kampung Baru, Kota Samarahan, who guarantees the quality, halal status, freshness, and authentic taste of the traditional kuih. The business operates using an advance-order system, where customers must place their orders two days before the delivery date. This pre-order system helps in collecting orders in advance, managing them more efficiently, avoiding food waste, and ensuring that customers receive the kuih in a fresh condition. Deliveries are made on a cash-on-delivery (COD) basis throughout the UNIMAS area or can be picked up at selected locations such as the lobby of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH). This method makes it convenient for customers, especially busy students with tight schedules. As for payment methods, customers can choose between physical cash payment or online transfer. Orders can be placed via The Kuih Lab's social media platforms Instagram and Facebook or by sending a message through WhatsApp to the number provided in the promotional poster.

This pricing does not include delivery charge (COD) which is 50 cents at each collage in UNIMAS.

Running a Malaysian traditional kuih business through the MPU3222 subject was a truly meaningful experience for me as a student. Throughout this project, I had the opportunity to learn various important aspects of business such as operations management, marketing, finance, and most importantly, teamwork. Each group member played their respective roles, and I was actively involved in ensuring the smooth execution of the project. Despite that, we also faced several challenges such as fluctuating customer demand, delays from suppliers, and time constraints as we had to balance this task with our academic responsibilities. However, we overcame these challenges through effective communication and strong team collaboration. I learned that the success of a small business not only depends on the product but also on time management and teamwork. Overall, the MPU3222 subject provided me with a valuable and practical learning experience. It opened my mind to the real world of entrepreneurship and taught me how to think creatively and solve problems professionally. This experience also strengthened my interest in the field of business, and I am truly grateful to have gone through such a meaningful learning journey with my teammates.

Managing a traditional Kuih company in Malaysia as part of my MPU 322 project gave me significant practical business experience. we were forced to face difficulties head-on as a result of the projects-'s immersion in the in complexity of operations, marketing, and finance. Time management and problem-solving abilities were refined by successfully managing shifting consumer demand, supplier delays, and the delicate line between academics and entrepreneurship. this experience made clear how crucial successful small business operations, excellent teamwork and a high-quality product.

Taking the Entrepreneurship subject has been an eye-opening and transformative experience. At the start, I thought entrepreneurship was solely about starting a business and making a profit. However, throughout this course, I have come to understand that it is much more than that. It is about identifying problems, taking initiative, thinking creatively, managing risk, and adding value to society.

As one of the financial managers, running a traditional kuih business as part of our MPU3222 Foundation of Entrepeneurship Inculturation has been a valuable experience. Learning to do the day to day finances and doing bookkeeping has taught me many things when it comes to running a business. I have learned to tackle problems when it comes to finances, particularly when it comes to the flow of money as well as ensuring the appropriate use of the budget. Other than that, another important lesson that I learned is that teamwork is especially important when it comes to ensuring the success of our business. Running a business is a team-effort, and doing things on your own will only cause problems. I have communicated clearly with my team members about the use of our budget as well as being transparent with the flow of money.

My Entrepreneurship class completely changed my perspective. Initially, I saw it as just about making money, but I learned it's so much bigger. It's about spotting problems, being proactive, thinking outside the box, handling risk, and making a positive impact. This entrepreneurship course has been a real game changer. Before, I only saw the profit side of things, but now I understand it's about identifying needs, taking the lead, creative problem solving, managing uncertainty, and contributing something valuable. Taking this entrepreneurship class opened my eyes. I used to think it was all about business and profit, but it's really about recognizing issues, taking charge, innovative thinking, risk assessment, and contributing to the community.

The Entrepreneurship class has opened my mind to the world of business in a broader perspective. Initially, I thought business was merely about buying and selling. However, through this class, I have gained much more knowledge about business and a deeper understanding of its concepts. Entrepreneurship is about doing something new, creating innovations, thinking outside the box, facing risks, and more. This class has become a real platform for me to learn about business, which I previously thought was only about profit and loss. As a result of this learning, I now understand that entrepreneurship requires the courage to lead, the ability to solve problems wisely, and the drive to contribute something meaningful.

Running the traditional kuih business through MPU3222 was an incredibly enriching experience that taught me far more than just entrepreneurship, it pushed me to grow as a problem-solver, team player, and decision-maker. From managing operations and finances to navigating marketing challenges and unpredictable customer demand, every hurdle like supplier delays or balancing academics with the business forced us to adapt quickly and work together effectively. What stood out most was how teamwork and communication turned obstacles into opportunities, proving that success isn’t just about a good product but also resilience, creativity, and collaboration. This hands-on journey not only deepened my interest in business but also gave me a real-world perspective on what it takes to run even a small venture, leaving me with lessons I’ll carry far beyond the classroom.
