I "Mean" she names things someone did.  The author wants you to know the person there talking about did these things and she's talking directly to them.

In "Eleanor Rigby" there talk about them. They want you to know what they did but also want them to have a little emotion so there talk about someone they feel they know. Or, even everyone in the story can see their feelings.
