- networking and opportunities for learning from others
- gain insight into the perspective of a supervisor
- have felt judged/treated differently in own experiences at work e.g. for wearing headscarf/being an international doctor and saw a need to change this
- will help in future when taking on a role as ES 
- have seen how discrimination exists within the NHS and trainees
- have witnessed differential attainment e.g. for international doctors getting into different specialities and the need for culture change
- the diversity of patients we see is not reflected in the workforce
- experience so far in training has been to have white male ESs. Recognise a need for change in this respect
