Country music also allows stories to be told that Americans can further relate to. A great example of telling a meaningful story in country music is Cam's song Diane that is about a women confessing to another women about sharing the same man. Cam confesses that if she had known he was married she would have left him alone. In the song Cam states that she would understand if the other woman would hate her, but at least the other woman knows the truth. The cultural influences of this song shows how women should make their own decisions based on the truth. Women can sometimes get lost in a relationship and loose their independence. Even though the song has a powerful meaning I still didn't change my mind about country music being my least favorite genre. Pop music differs from country music because it is music that everyone can relate to. As a example I chose Bruno Mars song That's What I Like. This song has the power to change the way the audience feels. Bruno Mars writes this song to make his audience feel luxurious so he mentions condos, expensive cars, and fancy dinners.
