As a reader, I come across different authors having various imaginations and perspectives and through this lesson, I was able to acknowledge that there is what we call "Literariness" that measures the quality/content of a writer's piece. This morning I was able to recognized the people behind this idea, I am surprised by their ideas and stands when it comes to the theory, from a single person up until to the last two people who gave the three components that is more specific and understandable to the learners. Literature refers to any written work, but specifically prose, poetry, and plays. 
Literariness is a theory used to assess the quality of these works. Jakobson's idea was that literariness is something that is quantifiable. 
When the author accomplished through the use of devices such as metaphor and personification. It is called defamiliarizationthe first component (distinctive style) serves as the foundation for the second component (defamiliarization).
