The story of My Life

Originally, I was born in the United states. I was born in the Northridge Hospital. I haven't gone to Mexico yet but I plan to go when I'm around fifteen. I grew up living with my grandma and my mom. When I was around four I moved into a small house with my parents. I had a good childhood and I had lots of friends growing up. I went to Napa Elementary and I had a very good experience there.

My Family's Immigrant story

My family and Ancestors all lived in Mexico and only half of my family was able to immigrate to the United States. My mom had come to the United States while she was around ten. My mom had finished the rest of her Middle school and High School years in the United states. My family didn't know how to speak English when they first came so they had to learn by my mom. My mom got together with my dad during their highschool years and they didn't get married until they got a house together. My dad is originally from El Salvador and he had come to the United States with his brother and they were around eleven to thirteen. My moms side of the family only wanted to come to the United States so they can have a better life.

There are many popular foods in Mexico, but my favorite food is Tamales. I enjoy eating them mostly during Christmas because that is usually around the time my grandma makes them and I like the way she makes them. These steamed corn dough dumplings are filled with meat or cheese and are often served with a spicy salsa.
