I kind of knew that for some families, there were issues where education wasn't able to be afforded and that people had to do crude work all their lives to survive. I also recall hearing something along the lines of a situation where people who were once owned a lot of money or land had everything given to the government (Communism says that everything belonged to the government and could to no person alone) and because most of these people didn't really learn any important skills that could help them earn a living, so they suffered a lot in the state of depression China was in. I learnt today that the starvation issue happened because of the short thinking of a government project called "The Great Leap Forward". I also didn't know that not as many people were able to work in the fields, as they were all busy trying to create new things.
