There are three types of sentences: simple, compound and complex sentences. Simple sentence includes one subject and one verb. Compound sentence includes different independent clauses and these clauses are connected together by coordinators. Complex sentences combine different clauses but has at least one independent clause and other dependent clauses.

When it comes to academic writing( essays), try to use different types of sentences in your writing, especially COMPLEX SENTENCES.

Dependent clauses include: adverbial clauses, relative clauses and noun clause. ( Memorize linking words of each type of clause)

• inference: thông tin được suy luận dựa trên các facts trong bài, ko phải thông tin đươc suy luận không có evidence.

• sentence simplification: câu đáp án được diễn đạt đơn giản dễ hiểu hơn câu trong passage nhưng không cần thiết phải viết lại đầy đủ ý như câu gốc, một số chi tiết không ảnh hưởng đến nghĩa quan trọng của câu có thể bị lược bỏ. Chiến lược: yêu cầu từ vựng đồng nghĩa, khả năng hiểu ngữ pháp và hàm ý của tác giả.

• factual question: tìm câu thể hiện thông tin đúng trong bài có thể là câu hỏi về định nghĩa, ý nghĩa chi tiết A,B..

Understand purpose and attitude questions, the definition, question types and strategies to listen.

For purpose question: the purpose is usually stated at the beginning of convs or lectures. Try to understand the general idea of convs and lectures to EXCLUDE small details mentioned.

• For attitude and opinion question: try to guess the meaning of the utterances, predict the answer based on the voice, intonation of speaker.
