Corkboard - Miranda

I have a large cork-board in my work space with a calendar at the top and 4-5 (sometimes more) ‘focus areas’ that I want to spend time working on.

If I am working on one area and I have an idea or think of something I need/want to do/investigate relating to another area, I write it on a small square of paper and pin to the board under the appropriate heading, then return to what I was doing. Once it’s recorded I know I can come back to it at a more appropriate time without getting distracted from whatever (currently more important task) I’m involved with.
I can easily re-order, add or remove tasks or items as circumstances change. Also, breaking each interest/project into smaller goals/tasks means it’s easier to make progress long term in lots of areas even if I only have a small amount of time to spare each day.

I use a small jotter diary where I write down the things to achieve or working on for that day. as they are completed I cross them off, progress on projects is recorded and moved forward to the following appropriate day.
Also a small notebook to record bursts of inspiration and ideas daily to re-read at night deciding if it is an idea worth pursuing at a later date.
I plan to start using a whiteboard at home to record progress on priority tasks and future ideas.

Whiteboard - Mitchell I have a small whiteboard in my room with the days of the week on it and different times of the day. I use this to write down when and where i have various training's and appointments as well as any thing due on the certain dates. This helps me keep track of where i need to be and when as well as what tasks i need to complete that day. it is an easy way for me to keep track of things as it is one of the first thing i see in the morning when i wake up. When the week is over i can then just wipe it off and start a fresh week.

We have a whiteboard for the projects for the week by staff member which is in the middle of the office and everyone can see this when they walk in, we have weekly team mtgs to discuss plans & projects and then I have my diary/phone calendar to track personal tasks. The trick is avoiding the "other" tasks that sneak in on top of this as a distraction to the important plans - need to work on determining immediate & urgent tasks and avoiding procrastination

Pomodoro Technique - Tess

If i have a strenuous or important task or set of tasks to do i usually will use the Pomodoro technique. This is a time management technique which involves setting a timer for 25 minutes and working solidly on one task for that time, then taking a 5 minute break before starting another 25 minute work session which can be the same task as before or a different one.
This method means that you can successfully single-task which will, in turn, mean that you can complete work quicker and to a higher standard. This is also a great technique to use if you don't feel particularly focused or motivated to work as it is much easier to get through work when you break it into small chunks with breaks in between.

Google shared Calendars, Personal Calendars, Phone Calendars Whiteboard and sticky notes.

I am a single mother of 3 age 3,4 and 11 work and study full time. I use google shared calendars for all the kids daycare school and after school activities to note down time for pick up drop of, appointments, field trips and who is attending who's. Here the family add/link their personal calendars to the shared calendars to see who can do what and who can not. From there we color code what is urgent and what is not. I set my phone calendars to give me a reminder before bed and morning time. I use sticky notes around the house for my son as a reminder what he needs for school the next day and for myself . I usually stick them on his mirror, computer or his whiteboard sometimes in the toilet. I dont know how this work but it works and it managed to keep both family members, school and work in a good routine.
