This is the new spot where I will be collating all my music production and radio shows. I have been working on some merch too, but if you know me, it can take me a minute to get stuff done.

Last year I released my 60 minutes of Boom Bap mix, I made this pre-Stems which would have made it a lot easier, but it's probably my most solid hip hop mixtape to date. For those who wonder why the cover look a bit... dated, well just google Funkmaster Flex's 60 minutes of Funk.

The Midnight Marauders radio show

Back in 2021 I stumbled across a small record shop in the Southside of Glasgow which had an elaborate setup for djing inside. I asked what it was for and it turns out two locals Speedy and Suz had just started up a community-based radio station. This was excellent I though and I asked about playing a one-off set on the show, which went well, and a year and three guest slots later, I now have a monthly show on the station, Radio Buena Vida.

I will be posting the shows on here after they are uploaded but have a look at my profile and give the shows a listen.

The pandemic brought about a whole new way of DJing. Many DJs were quick to explore the online mix show opportunities especially the Use of Twitch, was Criztoz who runs the 45 Day events.

I was fortunate enough to DJ at a couple of their events and was asked to DJ a couple of mixes. All these are on my Mixcloud page, but specifically they are here too

Women in Hip Hop special on RBV with special guest Nic Goodlife

During the year of Hip Hop is 50 celebrations there was lots of amazing mixes, but none specifically dedicated to the women in Hip Hop. I asked a good friend and member of the Waxnerds crew do make me a 20 minute minimix for the show. RBV Dancehall & Dub special

Hip Hop has been my all time favourite music genre since I first heard it on a friends walkman in school, but Dancehall is a close second. I was never a massive Reggae fan, but Dub and Dancehall really sparked my interest as soon as I heard any music in these genres. In later life I figured it was the deep sub bass that caught my attention, which was more prominent than in "general Reggae", for the record I do like a lot of Reggae now too.

I've been a big fan of the Heiro Crew since hearing Del's "I Wish my Brother George Was Here" and through Skateboarding videos, specifically Mike Carrols section in Plan B's 'Virtual Reality' which was the first time I heard Casual.

I have been trying a bit harder with my radio shows to theme them on alternative months, something which takes a surprising amount of time and planning, so this episode is all about the Heiroglyphics Crew.

I have added a new mix 2024 45 day mix to Mixcloud. I am amazed at howe many people produces mixes for these now, it's quite incredible. I've always collected my mini Hip Hop records, and to be honest, I only really buy them from charity shops etc, something which is becoming more difficult with their popularity. Maybe one day I wont have enough to contribute to a fresh new 45 day, but I'll wait for that day to come...

Mayday Mayday on RBV

Ok, so I didn't host a show on Mayday, but I did like this one, as I planned the mix for a gig at The Rum Shack as part of Radio Buena Vida's get-together party. I have been using a Pioneer DDJ Rev 5 controller on my show for a few months now, and it's a great tool, but not as great as using Serato Vinyl. I still have to figure out the sensitivity of the CDJ style platters, still I enjoyed this mix. Playlist below:

October has been a very busy month for me, lots of ups and downs. I released my debut album 'Mitte' on my 50th (yeh I know right...) birthday, which is available on Bandcamp and Soundcloud. The mastering and preparation of this took up a lot of time, which has left me little time to prep my radio show, so it's another freestyle month. Dont be dissapointed though as it's a good one.

On the downside, Glasgow's music scene lost two important members, Jamie Gardiner and Jack 'Jackmaster' Revill. This show is dedicated to them both.

Dema - 'Mitte' Debut Album

October 2024 was a big month for me, I turned 50 and felt it was about time to release that album I said to people I had been working on since I was in my 30s. It has been a really interesting process making an album from creating the songs, to mixing them and then mastering them. It was good to put my School of Audio Engineering skills to the test. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it!
