She gets into an argument with Eva and puts Eva in an old folks home. Jude cheats on Nel with Sula and leaves Nel for her.
1939 (pg. 112) - Sula starts having rumors spread about her that she slept with white men, that she's a devil, etc. Ajax becomes curious, they start talking and sleeping with each other.
1940 (pg. 138) - Sula is sick so Nel comes to visit her. After she leaves, the boarding house starts burning and Sula dies.
1941 (pg. 150) (the book shows 1919) - Sula's funeral happened, there was a huge freeze in October. On National Suicide Day, lots of people from the Bottom marched with Shadrack, who didn't want to celebrate National Suicide Day anymore. They marched down to the New River Road, the tunnel they were never allowed to build, and broke the building materials. They went too far in and many were crushed under the construction.
1965 (pg. 163) - the Bottom is beginning to be gentrified as Black people moved closer to the valley after the war.
