Nations around the world have a defined school curriculum. As a nation we confine our students to a set number of literature known as the canon. These subject students to a limited amount of voices and do not allow for cultural diversity . By ingnoring the canon and reaching out for more literary sources ; students will become more culturally diverse , learn about different perspectives , and have more knowledge about the world around them.
Topic sentences :
-The world is full of different people , and these people have different experiences . By using multiple types of literature from around the world , students can find many diverse perspectives on imperitive topics. By expanding outside of the canon a student will have more world knowledge then before.( source F)

Thesis: While critics of the American English curriculum believe that having a canon of mandatory reads should be required due to their significance, this stunts diversity of knowledge and promotes a one sided bias in what young students are reading and being exposed to. Additionally, the age of print is passing, and there are so many avenues of writing to explore that shouldn't be limited by a standard reading list enforced at a national level.

Topic 1: Due to the fact that the antiquated canon exposes readers to the writing of a small group of people with the same background and ethnicity, it should not be required since the list only gives students a limited perspective of literature.

Topic 2: Additionally, there are so many different types of literature, and by limiting students to books on the canon, it will limit their ability to read very diverse viewpoints and pieces that have the potential to expand their way of thinking.

Topic 3: Furthermore, the age of print is fading away, and it is meaningless to have a stable canon of works on the electronic writing space, where there are so many different pieces of writing to explore.

Sources A, B/C, F

Because of this, there becomes a need for educators to establish with students, from a very young age, that there are people who are very different from themselves; By compiling a set of books that are required reading and that showcase various different values and histories, we can provide awareness and compassion across our entire education system.

2). As well as culture we also have citizens who belong to varying socio-economic backgrounds, which generally tend to be focused in many urban areas.

Thesis: in the case of standardizing literature books used in high schools, it would be extremely beneficial to have each school use books that match the reading level of their students. This would aid students in more efficiently developing reading and writing skills.
TS1: with a standardized, students are deprived of intellectual diversity because they are not learning the culture of different people and regions for they are only reading American and English literature.
TP2: while a set curriculum is not harmful to students and their education, as many would agree , the current canon lacks the beneficial diversity needed to prepare students for the real world .
TP3: As schools differ from one another, teachers differ and students differ so to herd everyone's education into a single canon is to give very little attention to the learning styles of some and the current level of education for others. With schools deciding what type of literature would best suit their students, the students would receive an easier learning environment, but would also have confidence in their abilities.

In source C they discuss the way certain teachers instruct their students and it is not always according to the curriculum that should be taught.
