  3. What does the nurse say to you?
  4. You take a better look around what do you see?
  5. What is hanging in the coat rack in the corner?
  6. A strange man walks up to you, what does he look like?
  7. What does he say?
  8. There is a strange thing creeping towards you, what is it?
  9. You smell something strange what does it smell like?
  10. Do you take the cup of medication or do you turn and make a mad dash for the door?

Point of view shift : 
  • You are the nurse with the cup of medicine.
  • You are someone else looking in.
  • A criminal strapped to a chair.
  • An insane asylum nurse at work.
  • The target cashier.
  • The strange thing crawling.
  • A family member of the insane person.

You jog every morning, taking the same route through your neighborhood every time. But this morning, you decide to take the trail through the forest. You quickly become lost and feel as though someone is watching/following you.

Questions: 
  1. What made you decided to take a different route this morning?
  2. What does the forest feel/look like? Describe your surroundings. 
  3. After a while jogging, you realize you are no longer on the trail. You spin around to look for something familiar and notice you are lost. How do you react?
  4. A twig snaps behind you somewhere and you freeze. You slowly begin reaching for your phone only to realize you don’t have it anymore and must have dropped it along the way. How do you proceed?
  5. The farther you walk, the more familiar your surroundings seem, why is that?
  6. You come across a run down cabin, what does it look like?
  7. You enter the cabin in hopes of finding someone to direct you out of the forest but it is empty. You look around the cabin and find pictures of you as a child. How do you react?
  8. As you look through the photos you found, you hear a floorboard creak. Do you: A:Panic and hide or B: Walk toward the noise
  9. You made your decision. A:You are hiding, where are you? What do your surroundings look like? B:You walk toward the noise and find a man kicking off his boots and hanging up his coat. Who is he? Describe him.
  10. What happens next?A: You hear footsteps walk up to and stop in front of your hiding place. You hold your breath, sighing in relief when you hear a door open and close somewhere in the house. What do you do now? B: The man introduces himself. What is his name? Why does he sound and look so familiar?

You are put into the position of designing an inescapable prison. You are given an infinite amount of time, and an unlimited number of resources- however, with every scenario you devise, it is made apparent that the prisoner will always escape. Until you manage to design a truly inescapable prison, your work is never done.

Questions:
  1. From whom’s perspective is the story told? That of the architect? Someone outside of the story itself?
  2. Where does the architect work?
  3. How does the architect behave?
  4. Why is the architect designing this prison in the first place- will they admit it?
  5. How long has the architect been working?
  6. Does the architect enjoy their work?
  7. What kind of work ethic does the architect have?
  8. Does the architect believe in what they’re doing?
  9. How are the designs for the prison flawed?
  10. Is there or will there ever be a truly inescapable prison?

Plot Twists:
  • The architect wants the prisoner to escape
  • The architect is in prison
  • The architect and the prisoner going into this ‘inescapable prison’ are one and the same
  • The architect is crazy
  • The prisoner’s ‘escape’ is death
  • Come up with your own plot twist!

  • Your planet isn’t actually Earth, rather it’s the United Human species pointing a death laser at your planet.
  • Laser death is actually inevitable, but there is a way to escape… you just have to buy time.
  • You’re the alien who received the letter, and write journal entries about it and how the situation progresses.
  • You call upon an Eldritch Horror to destroy the death ray, but you somehow need to get the aliens to say the words “I call upon thee, Qualzoth. I have sinned, and must be damned and cursed.”

You begin to think about how dull your life has become with your new job, and monotonous days. It has been a long day at work, and you begin to doze off. Suddenly, someone jumps into the cab with you. You have never seen them before, and they are not dressed like any normal person you have ever encountered. 

  1. What does the person look like?
  2. Does the cab driver react?
  3. How does the stranger introduce themself?
  4. They tell you to get out of the cab and go with them. Do you follow?
  5. If you follow, the stranger takes you down a dark alley, but when you emerge you are in an entirely different place.
  6. What is this new place like?
  7. Are there other people waiting? 
  8. The stranger gives you a bag full of supplies and a map, and tells you that you must help them. Why do they need your help? What is the situation? 
  9. The stranger gives you a choice to either go back to your normal life, or you can stay in this new world and help them on their adventure. What do you choose? 

Plot Twist (include one of the following):
  • You have been to this other world before, and you know who this stranger is. 
  • This is all a dream from when you fell asleep in the cab.
  • This is real, but you’re convinced it is a dream. 
  • The stranger does not want to help you, and this is a trap.
  • If you choose to help the stranger in their adventure, you may never go back to your old life again. Is it worth it?
