This is also because I refer to the video and the content in the book mentioned above（“The Animator’s Survival Kit Animated”）, so I can complete very smooth animation works. Maybe I should try to animate my arm with the IK controller more, because I found that the animation part of my arm using the IK controller was a bit stuck and not coherent. Maybe just do it more and try more. Strive to be able to integrate successfully and meet your better works in good years. The biggest failure of my work this time was probably that the ambient light was too strong. Although I was thinking of the scorching sun at noon, the light was still a bit too strong. It felt like there was white light all around the characters. I'm really sorry that I didn't discover this, otherwise I could have saved it before the material error was reported, and maybe similar problems wouldn't have happened. I will have to pay more attention to the light source after I complete the rendering.

Reason for a camera shot: Because my story is about Tom frightening Jerry in the corner. I feel that a camera shooting from a third perspective is enough because it gives the feeling of recording the story. And at the beginning, I started shooting from the place where Tom and Jerry were present, hoping that they could both appear. This shows from the beginning that it is a story between the two of them. However, later I found that the shooting effect was not good, so I changed it to Tom hiding behind the corner and peeking at Jerry. When jerry walks up to tom and scares him, the story feels more interesting.

I actually made many storyboards at the beginning of this work. For example: a security guard suddenly bumped into his late mother at the security booth at night and was frightened and sat on the ground. This was not completed because I found that it was too dark after dark, and I was not very good at lighting that kind of bright light, and I was not very good at lighting with faulty lights, so I gave up on the idea. Another idea is that a man built a wooden house for himself when he was a child. When he grew up, he entered the wooden house and broke the wooden house. This story ended up being useless because I couldn’t find two suitable character models to show that they had grown up.

Actually, I originally planned to scare Jerry with a Christmas tree. Just in line with the Christmas atmosphere while doing homework. But the Christmas tree I modelled is a bit too ugly. Then I thought that Tom often scares Jerry in the animation, and Jerry also likes to play pranks on Tom. I happened to find Tom’s model at that time and used it directly. I also did another exercise about going up the stairs during the winter vacation, but I felt that just going up the stairs was too boring, so I added a rabbit light that came out of the door to scare the girl who went upstairs. But I have to look for reference later, because the girl paused for too long when she went upstairs and came out of the rabbit light, and she looked not very smart, like a machine.

In fact, the tutor really liked the story of the little girl who was scared by the rabbit lantern, but because the movements were too stiff, the tutor suggested that I add the characters' reactions in the middle, such as jumping feet or retreating. My classmates suggested that I make a camera to focus on expressing the character's expressions, but I rejected these because the controller of this character model was too complicated, and I had to spend time studying where to control it later. Especially for expressions, it does not have a dedicated expression controller, but is tied to the face.
