While I was watching this video I felt in awe because I identified myself with immigrants, so I was confused and I was hopeful like them, and I felt like I was poised and that destabilised me because I imagined to be without home.
Immigrants are people, and sometimes we forget it and we usually see them like a number. But watching this video make me feel one of them.

Since first imagines i liked the video. I found it really catchy and suggestive and watching the rooms, the walls, the corridors filmed by the author while listening his voice, a bit deep and calm, as he was really plunged in his far memories made me think about a word that i read a while ago, “Kaukokaipuu” that express the feeling of nostalgia of a place where you had never been in your whole life. I perfectly know that currently Ellis Island is not an abandoned place but I would really like to visit it, maybe in a moment when is empty just in order to feel the sensation of walking on a empty floor where in past walked 12 millions of people, listening to the silence of a place that used to be full of voices who were talking in different way.. I really loved the video and I found that very outgoing, and it used a very basic style, simple but effective frames. The voice of the speaker gave you the time to observe and reflect and also to imagine what you couldn’t see and what he didn’t say. The best thing is that he talks about a story that it’s really so likely that it happened to someone, for sure, and I think that telling a story that regards millions of people being so anonymous at the same time is really great, he was so good doing his part.

The video made me feel the frustration and despair that the immigrants may have felt when being rejected and seeing their dreams for a new life shattered so quickly after all they could have been trough to get there.

The immigrants' situation is still very attual and modern, even the process seems very similar. I felt even more involved because the majority of them were Italians, i feel bad for all the kids that were sent back because they were alone without parents. It must be very concerning to go travel across the sea without the certainty that they were let into the country or not.

The video was very interesting, it was emotionally very strong to know all details and difficulties of immigration at that time. So i have thought to nowadays immigration problems and troubles.

the video made me realize how difficult life was at that time, because people almost always had to run away from something by leaving their country and family.

I identified with a person who has to leave everything and an empty space came to me, because at that time the technologies we have now weren't there.

The silence of the video and the voice in background made me feel a sense of sadness and I felt the emotions that immigrants felt because the situation is still very attual.
The photos on the walls make you closer to those people and I feel bad for them.
