*He died on April 8th 1829 from Tuberculosis.

*He died two days before a letter was sent to his house letting him know he received a job at the University of Berlin as a professor.

At 13 he went to school in Christiania with his brother Hans.

At 15- he started reading mathematical texts and works by Euler, Newton, and LaLander.

Excelled in math so his teacher, Holmboe told him to to dig deeper into it. When his father died and he had to stop going because of financial reasons, Holmboe raised money and helped him get a scholarship. He graduated in 1822.

Mother- Ane Marie Simonson- A drunk who was wealthy from her own parents.

When his dad died in 1820 Niels had to stop going to school because they did not have enough money.
