Ultimately religion is about the interpretation of how the world is and the sole faith that the religion's "holy text" is true. People sometimes don't enjoy the idea that anything other than their interpretations of their "bible" or "Qur'an" is simply right as well. This is why I believe that religion is a "source" of conflict. Religion itself is not at all conflicting, people are given morality and a basis of expectations to grow from. It connects people with similar beliefs and ways of life that can definitely create some form of peace. In fact, I think some religions do save people from just thinking about themselves in life. Still, there is more than one religion, and anytime there are different groups of PEOPLE, with different strong beliefs, there is bound to be conflict. Another example would be America's western expansion, which was claiming to be our God-given right, and that we were merely manifesting destiny.
