         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;is a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_imaging">medical imaging</a> technique used in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiology">radiology</a> to form pictures of the anatomy of the body in both health and disease. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields , radio waves, and field gradients to generate images of the organs in the body. MRI does not involve x-rays, which distinguishes it from <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computed_tomography">computed tomography</a> (CT or CAT). This field is also run by bio-medical engineers with specialized degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. This field was invented by Primary credit (and the Nobel Prize) for MR imaging was awarded to Sir Peter Mansfield and Paul Lauterbur. However, Raymond Damadian must also be recognized for his innovation and construction of the first full-body human MR scanner, which allowed for the scanning of tumors and&nbsp;internal damage through the entirety of the body instead at once.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
