When I told the room leader i was scared to how she would react and how she would tell the child off she acted fast to see the child who was hurt and gave me some tissue what was wet to hold over it, another member of staff recorded it on a piece of paper (an accident/indent form) the room leader spoke to the other child about why she done what she did and told her that it was a wrong thing to do, and sat her on a chair for a minute to think about what she did. In the future if this happens again i would be more confident when it comes to telling off the children and when I work In a pre-schools I know how to act in this situation. Now we are keeping an extra eye on the child, and I don't think we could of done anything else to stop them doing it again. 

I have learnt that when you tell children off you have to repeat yourself and you have to say it in away they will understand and I have learnt how to the children of In the right way and learnt how to behave around them. From my lessons at college I can apply things I have learnt such as how to be a good practitioner and how to speak around them.

I helped my group out by staying how much space we needed and I helped my group by saying what toys should go were when it came to the group activity that my tutor got us to do. 

While doing this I found things hard and easy, the things that I found easy was using what I have seen at placement and alleging it in a different way for my environment and thinking about what sort of toys we needed and where they should go. The thing I found hard was talking to my group because we all wanted different activities.

When I first started college I was nervous and shy, I thought I didn't fit in at first but when I got to know my class mates I made friends. I was confident and I believed in my self as the weeks went by. After having a full term at college I feel hapoy and not shy, yes I have had knock backs but I haven't given up due to all the support I have been given. 
As if settled into the college I feel as I have grown in confidenence with things out side of college like going out to places with friends and family. 


Professional 

When I first started placement and college I felt as if I wasn't good enough to be a practitioner and I felt as if childcare wasn't the right path for me but after a couple of weeks in placement I felt more like I was a better practitioner and I know what to do and what not to do as a practitioner. Also I feel as if I am meaning new skills everyday and that I am improving as a practitioner and I am learning new skills everyday

I have learned how to complete a risk assessment to my placement standards and to get better at the observations I am going to complete more of them so I can grow my  knowledge and my skills in doing the observations. I found things hard and they are as follows: observations knowing what to observe and what not to observe and I found doing the check list easy, when it comes to the risk assessments I found finding the hazards were easy and writing them down. 

This affects my professional development because if I don't know what to observe I can't do them in my future career, how i am going to stop this fro, happening is by practicing them  over and over   Again till I get good at them. However, I know how to carry out a risk  assessment this will benefit me beucause when I work with children when I'm older risk assessment are a major thing when working with children . 

Also I have learned so many different things such as how to set up different activities and what to do if a child hurts themselves. I also have learnt how to change activities to suit different children abilities and what they are interested in. Also I feel a lot more confident in talking to the children's Parents about their day and if they have hurt their selfs.

For example, I have recently learnt how to do a risk assessment this has boosted my skills and knowledge beucause I heard of one but never have had to complete one but now I have I feel more confident with my role at my placement, also I now know how to set up an activity and I know how to change it in away that will make it so all the children are Interested I will do this by adding inn what they play with most so for example child a like playing with cars so I will do a maths activity involving cars. By doing things that you are not confident on  will make you're skills better because you are learning how to do something that you are not confident on this is helping you by knowing how to do something that may be useful in a child care setting. Reflecting on my  experiment at placement has helped me to find out what I am good at and what I am not so good at all this will make me become a better practitioner.

How I encourage them is by talking about the different fruits and vegetables and ask them what they like and what they dislike, and when I am in the Home corner I get the children to cook me what they think is is a good meal and give them ideas on what is a healthy meal and what isn't .

some reccomednations when it comes to healthy eating is to have posters around the setting and to do healthy eating  cookery lessons that includes both parents and children.


6.3 -  I do activities about healthy eating with the children, one that I have done is making their own models of fruit and vegetables out of play dough, this allowed the children to decide for them selves whether what they made was healthy or not. it also helped them with the names of the fruit and vegetables, this gave me an opportunity to discus this with them while they were playing.



6.4 - in my setting there are displays about healthy eating, they also have healthy foods in the home corner that they can play with and talk about. while the children are eating their meals at nursery we ask them if they know what they are eating is good or bad for them.  I recommend that we talk to the children more about healthy foods when they are playing in the home corner this is because it will help them update their knowledge on healthy eating and it will help them know what is good for them.

We also have loads of activities to do outside such as riding the bikes and catching and kicking the ball. When it comes to the pe lessons we make them different everyweek  so last week we done parecute games so they are engaged with the lesson and they are still having fun while excersize.
We also hold a lot of after clubs on Fridays and the  actives change depending on who run it after school.

Recommendations for the outdoor.
What I would recommend for the outdoor is that they need more games such as group games like football and catching in a big circle so they can play together while they excersize.

For AC 1.2 you should be reflecting on A SPECIFIC ACTIVITY in outdoor space. HOW did it support the children's exercise?  What was good about it, what didn't go so well, what changes would you make were you to do the activity again?

Outdoor activity-
For an outdoor activity I would choose balance beam this is becuase it is helping them with their eye and feet corrdination this is becuase they are walking along balancing, trying not to fall off the balance beam itself. Also, this helps support children exercise becuase they have enjoying what they are doing and it's making their leg muscles nice and strong. To this their was both positives and negatives: the positives were that they enjoyed what they were doing and they found it fun to do, however they lost focuses on it that was the negative side To it
 If I had to this again I would lay out the balance beam differently so it was longer.



3.3- an activity that I have done outside is balance beam, the children enjoyed this activity and they kept entertained through out. this activity had positives and negatives, the positive are that the children found it fun and it wasn't that hard to do so they could do it with out any help, the negative is that there wasn't enough parts to the balance so I couldn't make it bigger so the activity could last longer. I would maybe make the children to go back on themselves. after the activity the children said that they wanted to do it again after lunch.
I feel as if that the activity was to simple so they couldn't really challenge themselves, I communicated with the children and I encouraged them to have a go if they were unsure. I also said well done at the end to show that all the children done well.


3.4- at my nursery we have quite a small garden for the children to use to run around in, they have toy train outside for the children to go through, however it gets wet when to rains so they cant use it and they also have plant pots outside where they are in the way.
 I would change the size of the garden to make it more bigger, this will effect the nursery's cost because  they might have to buy more land and it might mean that the nursery will have to closed for a little while, so the children wont be able to go in. I would also the change the amount of toys we have in the outdoor area because they don't have a lot to play with and they just play with the same toys all the time.

This is so the children are safe and well within the setting. I do this by checking the all the tables and chairs to see if they are lose or broken, I also make sure all the coats and bags are tidy so they can't fall over them. I also make sure they do their shoe laces up if they are undone to save accidents. We make sure the sand pit has no sticks or sharp parts In their. I also know when and were I should fill out any forms weather it's an accident or incident. I know who to Inform if anything happens and I would  or do it.

By doing this I am improving my knowledge and skills. Also I am keeping up to date with any events that have occurred with in the setting.

We do this by having different languages around the room, we have different races and cultures information around the building so we can celebrate what they celebrate and learn more about their culture or religion.
As a practitioner I work along with every single child not just a couple of children, I make sure everyone plays In groups and no one is left out. Also we try different foods from different culture with parents promission. I also ask the, questions about their culture and I ask them to tell the class. I make sure I don't take the fun out of the children's religions and I listen and talk to them becuase I am  interested.

My attitude impacts on the children becuase they will copy it at home or with In the setting. This will happen becuase  the children are looking up to me as their role model. 

I make sure that every child is apart of an activity and I will adapt it to their needs. I will also make sure both genders are gaining benefits from what I have done. 

4.2- I wont let what I believe in get in the way of how I treat the children in my setting, I will encourage the children to understand each others cultures and background, I will do this by doing activities and talking about the different backgrounds that we have in the setting, another way I will show this is by talking about an special holidays or days that the children might have because of the religion. I will never try to encourage a child to believe in what I do.

Everyone communicates because it is important to know what the other person is doing. So their no miss communication between any body.
So practitioner know what's wrong with their key children so they can keep An extra eye out on them.

Communication can affect your own practice because if you haven't heard anything about a certain day your setting is doing you won't know how or when to prepare for it. Also if you don't tell people the important information they won't be able to complete anything that they have to.also if you don't communicate with parents they won't know the key dates that the pre school is doing they might miss information days such as parents evening or sports day.

When working in a child care setting you will need to build up good trusting relationships with adults so you can get all the information you need to look after their child. Communication is used with other professions

Communication effects my own practice because if I don't communicate in a good way information will not get passed about, I won't be up to date with new events coming up.
Also, if I don't communicate I could put a child in danger, so if they are talking about their parents and then they somethings strange and I don't let their key adult know it will be putting the child at risk.
However when all of this is done effectively, children are looked after well and people know what's happening around the setting,

However, if I don't not communicate with children I also am making their development slow down because they need people to to talk to them, ask them questions about what they are playing becuase it help them pick up on words that they haven't heard before.

As a practitioner I will use the correct language such as simple words (no that's bad) and I will not use inappropriate language.
We will also make sure the children at least attempte to read a simple book, or we will read one before they go and eat lunch.

For children who learn better independently I will make word walls theses are posters that have easy words on them, then they will go on to Amber walls words then they will move on to green word walls.

We also make books easy to get to such as in a corner in a basket on the floor, also we get the children to do some writing activities this is just called mark making because the children I am working with our only two years old.

if a child is not that good at talking we will try and help them improve there communication skills this could be by.

since I have started my placement at clever clogs I am now more happy at placement and I feel more apart their team because they include me into things that they do. also at college I have worked so hard in order to achieve my dreams of working with children, even when someone has said I wont pass I have showed them wrong because this is what I really want to do and I feel as if I am not good at anything else. I don't see my future without working with children.

as a practitioner I can address I can show positive behaviour by using the correct language for example I wont swear in front of the children, I will also follow the rules and guidelines, and I will also use my manners because children will be able to pick them up and they might use it at home.
 I support socialization  by encouraging children to talk to each other and I will help them get involved in activities this is also how they can pick up on words that they will add to the vocabulary.
at the end of every day I will talk to my room leader about how I did on that day and how I could improve on the next day, I also ask my self questions about what went well and what I need to improve on for example when I first started clever clogs I hardly knew anyone, so I set my self a goal which was to know five children's name and five practitioners names. 
I also work out how I could improve on my positive behaviour and how I could help the children more.
also, I support children's behaviour by being a positive role model, I will also give the child small consequences such as a timer or taking them away from the activity.
