Students will read a selection of trade books that focus on water as a finite resource and then create a digital dictionary of important words they learned. This will address the “Remember” as students recognize important vocabulary and define that vocabulary for themselves.

Students will interview their parents about how they use water in their homes. This will address “Understanding” as students seek to classify the different ways that they use water on a daily basis. This activity allows students to see how they and their families are linked to the water they use and how important it is in their lives.

Students will design a plan for conserving water in their household. This will address “Create” as students design and implement their water conservation plan. This learning activity is important because it will allow students to act on what they have learned about water conservation.
