         <description><![CDATA[<div>Smooth muscles are involved in many 'housekeeping' functions of the body. The muscular walls of your intestines contract to push food through your body.&nbsp; The smooth muscle in the uterus helps a woman to push out her baby. In the bladder, smooth muscle helps to push out urine. Smooth muscle determines the flow of blood in the arteries. Smooth muscles are involuntary as the body uses them without our brains telling the muscle to work.&nbsp; Smooth muscle is fundamentally different from skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle in terms of structure, function, regulation of contraction, and excitation-contraction coupling.
