The story about me and my dad—A quiet love but happiness love.

Hi, my name is Georgia, a 13 years-old teenager, if you are a teenager too, I wish you can know the story about me and my dad.

My relationship with my dad built in quiet love. We don’t talk too much, especially when my mother passed away because of the pneumonia. We show our love in what we do to each other, but not what we say. Every day, my dad leaves money for my lunch on the counter. Every night, I see his dirty work boots by the door. We live together but quietly. When I get the chance to apply for art grant, he never said“no”, I saw him look at our bills, I saw how tired he is. I knew this art supplies would cost many of our money, but the money all goes to doctor bills and our house. So, I told my teacher that I didn’t want the grant anymore. Dad’s quiet action is the way he talks to me. When I gave up the grant, I want to say to him: I see how hard you work, you are always tiered, I have no reason to ask for more. It felt sad to give up my dream, but I also help him with his dream, to let our family safe, happiness and be together. Actually, we just like two quiet artists, paint our love to each other but in a quiet way.

Our relationship is special. It’s built by the quiet understanding and love. We may not use many words to communicate, even sometimes forgot my birthday, but we understand each other completely. We show our love by giving things up for each other, that is the strongest kind love I know.

So, what do you think about your relationship with your parents?

English blog- relationship between Georgia and her dad

HI! My name is Georgia, a 13-year-old teenager girl, I live in a trailer with my dad. You can know me deeply in my diary.

Me and my dad’s relationship is quite weird, we don’t talk much and don’t really help each other, it’s like two people that never know each other but live together every day. But this relationship is started to be fixing in my 13th birthday, in that day my dad brings me a cake with a birthday card! That’s certainly never happened before.(After my mom die by pneumonia), even my dad is angry because the cake melted, it’s still made my heart feel warmer. In the face he looks he look like he never cares about me, but he put the money every morning for my lunch and work for very late.

One time, I got a chance to get an art grant, he accepts me to chase my dream, but somehow I saw the paper that cost the art tools, I know our family don’t have that much money for it, I really want to give up that time, because I don’t have that much art skill to get the art grant. But my dad didn’t be quiet that time, he says a lot of things to make me feel more courage, I feel like he is the beat father in the world that time.

To sum up, the relationship between me and dad is a weird love, we don’t really show our love on our face, but truly from our heart. I know my dad is very sad for my mom’s death but I want he to love his life again, you can see the following story in my diary see you!

Share your comment what kind of relationship you think is between you and your father, write it down!

Hi everyone, it's Georgia.

My English teacher, Mrs. Wilson, said that writing can help you figure things out. I guess that’s why I started this journal. It’s been… a lot. So much has happened, and we’re only in Chapter 32 of my life. I thought I’d share some pieces of it with you.

My life isn’t super easy right now. My mom was an artist, and she died when I was little. I miss her all the time, but it’s a quiet, aching kind of miss, like a background noise to my life. My dad… he tries. He really does. But since Mom died, it’s like a part of him shut down. He works all the time, and we don't talk much. We both just feel sad in the same house, but separately. It’s lonely.

The biggest thing for me is art. I love to draw. It’s the one thing that makes me feel completely like myself. I think I got it from my mom. I have this secret membership to the art museum that someone gave me anonymously for my birthday. It’s my escape. When I’m there, looking at all those paintings, I feel calm. I feel connected to her. I try to draw the feelings I see in those paintings.

Then there’s school. It’s okay. My best friend, Tiffany, is great, but sometimes I feel like she’s moving into a different world with different friends, and I’m being left behind. It’s confusing.

But a few good things have started to happen. There’s this new boy, Alex. He’s… different. He’s not like the other kids. He notices things. He actually sees me, not just the quiet girl who draws all the time. We’ve started talking, and it’s nice. Really nice.

And then there’s my school project. We had to write about a role model, and I chose the artist, Robert Indiana. You might know him from the LOVE statue. My report was good—so good that my teacher showed it to the principal, and they want to give me an award at this big school ceremony. Me! An award! For writing!

But here’s the hard part. They want my dad to come.

I want him to be there so, so badly. I want him to see that I’m good at something. I want him to be proud of me. But I’m terrified. What if he says no? What if he has to work? What if he just doesn’t come? The thought of sitting there alone, with everyone looking, makes my stomach hurt.

So, that’s where I am right now. In these 32 chapters of my life, I’ve been dealing with missing my mom, feeling distant from my dad, trying to hold onto my friendship with Tiffany, navigating these new, confusing feelings for Alex, and now, this huge, scary, exciting thing with the award.

My journal is filling up with all these pieces: sketches of paintings, thoughts about my dad, things I wish I could say to my mom, and little notes about Alex’s smile. It’s all jumbled up together—the sad pieces and the happy pieces.

I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know if my dad will come to the ceremony. I don’t know what will happen with Alex or Tiffany. But I have my sketchbook, and I have this journal. And for now, that feels like a start. It feels like I’m slowly putting the pieces of me back together, one word, one drawing, at a time.

Blog

Hello! I name is Georgia, a 13-year-old girl, my mom died because pneumonia, so this dairy is for my mom, is you interesting also, you can read as well! And you can know me a lot in this book!

So basically, me and my dad’s relationship are understanding and reconciliation also kind of weird though, we do not talk so much even we are family. I remember the day I turned to thirteen, which means that day is my birthday. Is the first time my dad appears in the book. He prepares pizza and cake. Pizza and cake taste good, but my dad got mad because the cake has little bit melt. Afterward dad gave me a letter said happy birthday. I’ve done with read the letter. Every year since my mom died. I’ve been waiting for dad to write love daddy inside. But it never happens. And I also remember when I got the museum ticket. Because I need money to visit the museum, so I lay to my dad, the money is for the school trip not for the museum ticket. So based on these evidence, you guys maybe can’t tell why there are “understanding and reconciliation”. Let me explain for you. I told my dad the money is for trip not for the museum because I afraid of what if he was mad or sad because he might remember my mom and feel sad. Also because maybe, he wouldn’t let me go anywhere also. (never do this) and I feel happy and disappointed. Happy because first time my dad gave me pizza and cake for my birthday. Disappointed because I wish he can write love you inside but anyway.

So what is you and you dad relationship? Are you live together? Are you like mom more or dad more? How is the feeling that have mom

With my father

I love my father in some ways but not always.

Hallo, my name is Georgia, I am a 13-year-old teenager, I only live with my dad.

Today I am talking about my relationship with my dad. I have a weird love with my dad, we are like the “most familiar stranger“ in my life. I mean, I know how my dad loves me and how we are being connect to each other. But think about it, will you really love a person that do not even often talking to you? But still, I think we are connected in some ways.

But I glad that he brings a cake in my birthday. My dad wants me to be happy but the cake melts. I am still happy he can bring me something for me. I can see how we have tacit understanding to each other.

So this is me and my dads weird “loves” to each other’s, but still I love him.
