I used to work as an ICU nurse which helped me so much with my doctor's training. I enjoy doing whatever comes to my mind: I organised a 14 hour transfer flight of an unwell patient that I have no experience, the transfer was surprisingly so smooth; I organised a charity cake sale for less fortunate Sri Lankan students but had no idea how to bake, but the sale went well; and I studied and worked at the same time for 6 years with no breaks just for me to finish my degree in medicine, but I kept my sanity intact. I completed my general nurse and midwifery training in Birmingham. I had my first ward sister post in Birmingham before taking up a variety of senior nursing posts in London at the Hammersmith, St Mary’s Paddington, Middlesex and UCLH. I never intended on a management career but opportunities came my way and I grabbed them and had some amazing experience and worked with some very bright people. I led the clinical teams in the move and migration programme transferring patients and clinical services from the Middlesex Hospital to the new UCLH. A week after the move in July 2005 I had to reopen the Middlesex to move patients back following the London bombing, we were in the thick of it. I was on the team that developed and implemented the provision of emergency health care for the 2012 Olympic family. Then I finished what I call career one on a 70 foot racing yacht in the 2013/14 Clipper round the world race as sailor and medic-life changing. Now on career two which means I have started from scratch and working my way up the system. I am currently a practice development nurse supporting the development of newly qualified nurses. For the past two years, I am the Core Medical Trainee's teaching organiser in Conquest Hospital. Furthermore, actively participated in teaching medical students from King's College London and Brighton University, being involved in teaching role which has allowed me to gain extensive leadership experience. Our team of doctors worked well together as we planned simulation workshops, speaker engagements, and open dialogue panel. This responsibility, in conjunction with my full-time medical training, has helped me to realise that, in the long term, I would like to enhance my skills in leadership .Also to practice within a supportive, collegiate environment while developing a recognised clinical teaching portfolio with involvement in undergraduate medical student teaching.
I believe the Education Fellowship would not only further advance my career goals but allow me the opportunity to provide a culturally fresh perspective on leadership. 
I enjoy badminton and basketball.I play badminton for Hastings Club,unfortunately social distancing has caused a bit of a bumper in the road.
