1. God called Abram in a vision. He told Abram to not be afraid and that he would be rewarded. Abram did not completely get what God was saying at first. God had told Abram that his offspring would be his heir, but Abram did not have any children so he was confused. Abram still accepted God's call and put his trust in God.

2. a. Abram's response is similar to the one Juan Diego gave Our Lady of Guadalupe because they both answered immediately and accepted. Both had trust and knew that they would be okay.

God repeats the promises he made to Abram because he wanted to clarify everything he said. He wanted to make sure that Abram was not confused and he knew exactly what he had to do. If we were Abram, we would feel honored and surprised but also very nervous because we want to make sure that we are doing everything right. We would feel honored because it feels good to know that God is creating a bond with us.

1
The text refers to Abraham as The Father of Faith for the Jewish people and our Spiritual Father because of our shared ancestry with the Jews. When they are referred to as "People set apart" what this means is that the people are essentially the same because we believe that we are all descendants of Abraham but at the same time we are different because of the Way God created us.

2. This means that the people were different in the way that they were a people who held promises to and from G*d.

3. This 'set-apartness' is observed in Abraham's male descendants because everyone is different or unique in their own ways.

We found Abraham's experience with God and being called by God interesting. God came to Abraham in a vision and told Abraham to not be afraid. Abraham did not know where God was guiding him but he placed his trust in God. We found this interesting because Abraham was not worried or afraid of what God was asking of him in the vision. He just trusted in God and answered the call.
