On as many activities as I possibly can, I give my students the choice of how to submit it. They can either write a paper, draw something for me, create a comic strip, create a poster or if they think of some other way to present the material.

Allow for students to decide if they want to respond to low stakes questions verbally or written. Also allow for work to be completed in a format decided by the student such as written, presentation, video, etc.

Speak of AI tools not as cheating, but as powerful aids that will be used commonly in future workplaces. Teach students to use them in an ethical manner.

I love the idea of “if you have a different idea…” just see the teacher and talk it through. This is something we do in Comm Apps - give guidelines - but also ‘room’ to be creative and as the cliche says, think outside the box.

My students are allowed to use text-to-speech for any assignment in google docs. They also are able to use translation via google translate if they need it on most activities. Sentence starters are provided if they are writing a sentence.

This basically seems to give permission to a teacher to meet the needs of even non identified students by celebrating access to various tools for production. Yay!

This helps aid students in being able to articulate what they are thinking. A lot of students have a hard time putting their thoughts onto paper, but are too shy to speak out loud so giving them these tools will allow for them to say what they're thinking.

Encourage students to use AI, text-to-speech, word prediction software etc. to help them complete their assignments. Shift student mindset from these being seen as a crutch and viewed instead as being tools to help them complete work to the best of their ability.

Pair with other teachers to occasionally provide feedback to students who are not your own. This will allow students to see how someone else sees their work and give teachers an opportunity to examine their biases.
