He was born in in the year of 1510. His parents were Juan Vásquez de Coronado y Sosa de Ulloa and Isabel de Luján. He was a younger son of a wealthy nobleman. Francisco Vasquez de Coronado then grew up and became a spanish explorer.

Later on some of the expedition departed from Compostela. Four months later he traveled with a more advanced group of people to the city of Cibola. They fled from a town of Zuni's but later on, Coronado got wounded during battle. He had found no riches, but he kept going on about his expedition. - 1540 He headed to Mexico. Expedition is a failure.
- 1541 He found the Grand Canyon.
- 1542 He heads home because there was no gold to be found.
- 1547 Coronado continued to be cast out and had been cleared from charges. 
- 1554 Coronado dies from a disease.
