A Bad Case of stripes written and illustrated by David Shannon. Originally the book was published in 1998 by Blue Sky Press. This children’s literature is perfect to demonstrate why kids need to be themselves and not do or say things because of others. Camilla Cream is our main character, she loves to eat lima beans. She is scared that she is going to be made fun of for eating lima beans because other kids do not like them. She ends up having rainbow stripes all over her body due to her not eating what she wanted which were the lima beans. She is made fun of at school for having stripes, shapes and other things showing on her body. Camila learns her lesson to just be herself and not do or saying things to be like everyone else. In a classroom I would read this story and then have my students write a time when they followed what others said or did like Camilla did. I would after have my students volunteer to discuss a time they were in Camilla’s shoes.

This story was written by Crystal Hernandez and with the help of JumpStory I was able to use the tools to illustrate my story. This story is called "Tabby The Messy Cat" and it is a story about a cat that always makes a mess while hiding, the owner Luke at the end of the day with all the mess loves him very much. Similar to how young kids are that make a mess, their parents love them no matter what.

Equality is something kids should be taught at a young age, because we live in a world that is very diverse. This is a social studies topic that I am most interested in. I was taught that everyone I grew up with was the same, I did not know what racist were and I did not know or care if it was important. The website I found the article on was called The Hub "How to Promote Equality & Diversity in the Classroom" Using the word cloud, I would ask the kids what all these words mean and why they are the most important. I would ask them why equality and diversity are the biggest words.

The topic I have choose is Types of Energy, I received my words from https://www.factmonster.com/science/energy/types-energy & used them to create a criss-cross puzzle. A criss-cross puzzle has blank spaces to fill with letters and a hint which is usually a definition. I will utilize this puzzle to have my third grade students in a science class. They will match definitions and pay attention to the words that match the definition. I will challenge the students to guess the words for a couple minutes then give them the words to finish the worksheet once they have had time to try to complete it. To create this puzzle I have used the http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com as my tool.

I created a jeopardy game using six most common areas in science. Outer space, plant cycle, life cycle, energy, water cycle, and states of matter. To implement this game into my classroom I would use it as a beginning of the year review for a fourth grade class. The questions are fair and not to difficult for students. I would uses this game to get kids excited to be gaining points. In jeopardy there are five questions for each category and scale from 100-500 points. When a team gets one question right they will get the amount of points they choose. At the end of the game the team with the most points wins.

The students will change the temperature of each atom to see what state of matter they will change into. For example water is a liquid already but, if you add heat to it then the molecule changes into a gas and if you add cold temperature it will turn into a solid.

The game I have created is for third graders to review all subjects including language arts, math, science and social studies. The questions are not to suppose to be difficult for them to answer especially since they are timed questions. My goal would be to get my students to think quickly when playing this game. The results that I received when playing was shown on an excel file showing how many have played and how many questions. The file also showed the result of the players and which questions they have a difficult time answering. This site is a good source to use for middle school and high school to get them engaged by allowing them to be on their cell phones if they have one. It allows the teacher to see how many are correct and are incorrect to see where the students are struggling in.

The AT tool I would use for this activity is a "Speech synthesizer". In my activity the students will be working on sentence structure and how a sentence needs to be written such as capitalization, commas, period and etc. This system can display and read aloud text. This will benefit students who are not able to read in English and who struggle to see the words. This activity will help them by not singling them out and allowing the to learn sentence structure by listening to the way a sentence sounds and how it looks. The AT chosen will be beneficial for any student in the classroom just as it will help someone who needs the extra help in listening and seeing, this AT device will do the same for a students without a disability.
