One day, the farmer thought to himself, “Why do we only take one egg a day? Why can't we take the whole egg once and make a lot of money?” The farmer told his wife his idea, and she foolishly agreed. The next day, when the goose laid her golden egg, the slaughters and slaughtered the goose, opening her belly in the hope of finding all her golden eggs, but, when she opened her belly, the only thing he found was blood.

Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever, she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak,

One morning, Little Red Riding Hood asked her mother if she could go to visit her grandmother as it had been awhile since they'd seen each other.

"That's a good idea," her mother said. So they packed a nice basket for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandmother.

The little girl put on her red cloak and kissed her mother goodbye.

"Remember, go straight to Grandma's house," her mother cautioned. "Don't dawdle along the way and please don't talk to strangers! The woods are dangerous."

"Don't worry, mommy," said Little Red Riding Hood, "I'll be careful."

But when Little Red Riding Hood noticed some lovely flowers in the woods, she forgot her promise to her mother. She picked a few, watched the butterflies flit about for awhile.

Little Red Riding Hood was enjoying the day so much, that she didn't notice a dark shadow approaching out of the forest behind her...

Suddenly, the wolf appeared beside her.

"What are you doing out here, little girl?" the wolf asked in a voice as friendly as he could muster.

"I'm on my way to see my Grandma who lives through the forest, near the brook,"

Then she realized how late she was and quickly excused herself, rushing down the path to her Grandma's house.

The wolf, in the meantime, took a shortcut...

The wolf, arrived at Grandma's and knocked lightly at the door.

[ ] "Oh thank goodness dear! Come in! I was worried sick that something had happened to you in the forest," said Grandma thinking that the knock was her granddaughter.

The wolf let himself in. Poor Granny did not have time to say another word, before the wolf gobbled her up!

The wolf let out a satisfied burp, and then poked through Granny's wardrobe to find a nightgown that he liked. He added a frilly sleeping cap, and for good measure, dabbed some of Granny's perfume behind his pointy ears.

A few minutes later, Red Riding Hood knocked on the door. The wolf jumped into bed and pulled the covers over his nose. "Who is it?" he called in a cackly voice.

"It's me, Little Red Riding Hood."

"Oh how lovely! Do come in, my dear," croaked the wolf.

When Little Red Riding Hood entered the little cottage, she could scarcely recognize her Grandmother.

"Grandmother! You voice sounds so odd. Is something the matter?" she asked.

"Oh, I just have touch of a cold," squeaked the wolf adding a cough at the end to prove the point.

"But Grandmother! What big ears you have," said Little Red Riding Hood as she edged closer to the bed.

"The better to hear you with, my dear," replied the wolf.

"But Grandmother! What big eyes you have," said Little Red Riding Hood.

"The better to see you with, my dear," replied the wolf.

"But Grandmother! What big teeth you have," said Little Red Riding Hood her voice quivering slightly.

"The better to eat you with, my dear," roared the wolf and he leapt out of the bed and began to chase the little girl.

Almost too late, Little Red Riding Hood realized that the person in the bed was not her Grandmother, but a hungry wolf.

She ran across the room and through the door, shouting, "Help! Wolf!" as loudly as she could.

A woodsman who was chopping logs nearby heard her cry and ran towards the cottage as fast as he could.

He grabbed the wolf and made him spit out the poor Grandmother who was a bit frazzled by the whole experience, but still in one piece.

"Oh Grandma, I was so scared!" sobbed Little Red Riding Hood, "I'll never speak to strangers or dawdle in the forest again."

"There, there, child. You've learned an important lesson. Thank goodness you shouted loud enough for this kind woodsman to hear you!"

The woodsman knocked out the wolf and carried him deep into the forest.

Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandmother had a nice lunch and a long chat.

Mary has to return to Britain and live with her hunchback uncle Archibald Craven, who lives in Yorkshire in northern England, in an old house dating back 600 years and has 100 rooms, most of which are locked, and the house is surrounded by a large area of gardens and trees. He now lives alone and sad after the death of his wife who made him happy in his life. Miss Mary got to know Mrs. Medlock, the maid of her uncle Mr. Craven, after receiving her in London. At her uncle's house, Mary got to know the maid Martha, who told her about her little brother Dickon, the house, its gardens and the surrounding wilderness. She also told her about the garden that had been closed since the death of her uncle's wife ten years earlier because it was her favorite garden. Mary soon became curious to see the secret garden! Mary wandered around the gardens of the house, and when she found trees whose branches appeared from above one of the walls, she saw a bird with red feathers chirping as if calling her, so she felt love for it. She looked for a door to enter but found none. She called for help from the old gardener Ben, who took care of the open garden. He was surprised by her request, and soon something surprising happened to Mary. After the gardener looked towards the secret garden, he made a soft, delicate sound, and the bird she loved quickly landed next to them. The gardener teased him, saying: Where have you been, my little one? I never saw you today! The gardener spoke to the bird as if he were a little child. Then the gardener told Mary that the name of this bird was "Robin" and added: When he was little, his mother died and he was left alone! This prompted Mary to approach the bird and address him: I am alone too. Mary became attached to the robin, who would reciprocate her love and chirp whenever she talked to him. She tried to keep up with his chirping by singing, repeating: I love you. I love you. When he flew towards the secret garden, Mary wished to fly like him so that she could see the secret garden, and she thought about it for a long time. She wondered why it was surrounded by walls and closed, and when she insisted on asking, the maid Martha told her that her aunt loved the garden and took care of it with her uncle. Her aunt used to climb a tree in it and sit on it for a long time, but she fell after one of its branches broke and died the next day, which made her uncle sad for a long time and closed the garden. Her aunt was her aunt herself, and while Mary was playing with the rope that Martha had brought her from her house on her last vacation, she found a strange key and kept it. The next day, the wind blew some plants aside and a door appeared behind her, which aroused her curiosity. When she turned the key, she was able to open it with difficulty, and soon she found herself inside the secret garden that looked like part of a fairy tale, so she did not realize at first glance whether the garden was alive or dead. All this happened while the robin was following her from above the trees. Mary managed to get a shovel with the help of Martha's brother Dickon to use it to tend the secret garden, and after she told Dickon the secret they worked together to revive the garden and plant some seeds, it was hard work that Mary loved and she began to love others around her, especially Dickon who lived in the wilderness and knew all the animals and birds. Mary had to see her uncle before he left for a long time, she heard many things about him and was afraid that he would not like her or her. Their meeting was short, during which Mary asked her uncle for a small piece of land to plant as a garden, her uncle did not object to that but expressed surprise, so she said to herself: He is a really nice man, but he looks sad. Poor Mr. Craven. Mary heard crying in the night, followed the source of the sound and opened the door of the room from which the sound was coming, and found a ten-year-old boy. After talking to him, she learned that his name was Colin and that he was her cousin, but he was sick, moving in a wheelchair and believed that he would become a hunchback and might not live as long as his doctor thought. Mary suspected that the doctor was not treating the boy, hoping to get rid of him and his father because they were related so that he could inherit the estate of "Mislewit Manor" from them. But this suspicion was misplaced, and it was not long before Mary and Colin were in complete harmony after she told him the secret of the secret garden, and they agreed that Martha would be the intermediary for their future appointments. Mary, in cooperation with Dickon, was able to break her cousin Colin's isolation and secretly bring him into the secret garden. Colin was happy on that spring day and exclaimed: I want to grow with the garden. But that day was not over until the gardener Ben Weatherstaff found them. At first he was surprised, and after he knew the truth he sympathized with Colin because he was not hunchbacked. Colin was able to stand straight on his feet in front of everyone, and he did not appear to be hunchbacked, which made everyone happy, especially after he picked up the shovel and started working with it. Mary no longer thought of herself only, and became a different girl than she was in India, and Colin no longer thought of his illness, his hunchback, and his sadness, because he was cured of his illness. And so everyone waited for Father Craven to return to surprise him with their happiness and the return of life to the secret garden, which made Craven happy too, especially the recovery and happiness of his son.
