         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Deadly Choices aims to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, to eat good food and exercise daily. Deadly Choices also encourages our people to access their local Community-Controlled Health Service and complete an annual ‘Health Check’.<br>-(Develop personal skills) The ‘Deadly Choices’ Program is a health education and capacity development program aimed at supporting students to be positive role models and mentors for their family, peer group and community by leading a healthy lifestyle.<br>-(create supportive environments) The junior version of the Murri Carnival showcases the links between health, wellbeing, sport, and education. The event brings our little people together in a safe environment, and focuses their attention on health, education, and exercise.<br>-(build healthy public policy) Deadly Choices use a range of family-focussed, sporting, cultural and nutritional activities to engage community and raise awareness of four key health areas (chronic disease, nutrition and physical activity).</div><pre><strong>-James Butera</strong></pre><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
