In order to have an entire class participate in a more interesting and technological way, everyone will have to post on this blog to come up with the whole picture on the subject. The subject is Congestive Heart Failure. I will make the first post regarding what heart failure is, and the rest of the class will contribute on the other components of the subject. The components will be signs and symptoms, treatment plan, medications, testing, and long term treatment. Each student will have their own freedom on what component to contribute the information to. - causes to have low ejection fraction - the left ventricle is not able to properly pump blood to rest of the body
- causes the heart muscle to get weak, decreases cardiac output, and prevents blood from getting to vital organs at full capacity
- causes fluid build up which results in edema, shortness of breath and fatigue

- Ongoing care
- Monitor for physical changes - rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, swelling, fatigue, loss of appetite
- Follow up with members of your healthcare team (primary care doctor, cardiologist, dieticians, physical therapists, case managers, pharmacists, etc.)
