The majority of the route was in the desert but it begins in India in the forest. Aside from it being a far route it was considered one of the safer and comfortable routes. There were trees for shade, building ways stations and digging wells. Clothing appropriate for these roads include thin garments as well as long pieces to cover the whole body to prevent getting exposed from the sun. They traded goods primary ivory and spices and proceeded to buy dried apricots and scents.
