How to add a post in Padlet
1. You must be logged into your school gmail (fcpsschools.net) account.
2. On the bottom right of your screen there is a circle with a plus sign in it. Click that.
3. Once you have clicked that a new post will appear. It will automatically add your name to the top. Then you can put a title which will appear bolded (this might be a great place to tell us all your preferred name). In the "Write Something..." is where you can type you actual post.
4. To add a photo to your post you can either upload a photo you have already taken using the left-most icon at the bottom of your post (the up arrow with a line under it) or you can take a photo right now with the camera icon.
5. There is no need to officially submit anything in Padlet. We can see what you are writing as you type (similar to how a google doc would work)
6. If you need to go back and add or edit anything in your post simply double click the post and you will be able to edit.

Note: When there are multiple people creating new posts all at once Padlet likes to jump around a bit (similar to if many people are trying to write in a google doc). Before starting a new Padlet please scroll through the existing posts to make sure yours didn't just get move around accidentally.

Pro Tip: If you are feeling very fancy, you can click on the top three dots at the top right of your post (visible when not in edit mode) to change the background color of you post.

What to include in your Padlet post
1.Tell me a little about yourself. Some things you might want to include are a nickname you would like your classmates and myself to call you, your favorite hobbies, if you have siblings, if you have pets, where your favorite vacation spot is, your favorite book/movie/tv show, what you want to do when you get older, your favorite class (even if it's not science. I hope that by the end of the year you will at least enjoy science more), etc. Feel free to get creative and include anything you would like me or your other classmates to know about you. 

2. Include a photo of yourself (or if you don't want to include a photo of yourself, include a photo of something you enjoy doing, a pet, your learn from home set up, etc)

3. Optional (but would be awesome if everybody did it!) comment or "like" another student's post.

My favorite book is Harry Potter and my favorite movie a Apollo 13. I collect Harry Potter and "Science-y" legos. My favorite class growing up was always science which is why I went into the sciences to begin with. Before I became a teacher I actually worked on a scientific research study at Georgetown University. I like playing and watching soccer, especially the English league. My favorite team is Tottenham, but I will watch any game that looks like it will be a good game. I enjoy going hiking and love to go camping. I usually go tent camping in Shenandoah National Park.
