Though I do understand why they think that I believe that Mary's loss and loneliness are just as evident as Archibald's. I feel that Norman did an excellent job of portraying two similar story without overshadowing another. Though Dr. Craven proved to be an antagonist and obstacle for Mary, the book had more of a self vs self conflict, evident in both Mary and Archibald.
