Hello, FPM Community! Welcome to “Plackis Pondering” - Dr. Plackis’ place for inspiration and guidance during challenging times. It is my goal to create a little online sanctuary to support the mental health and well-being of students and families as well as staff, leading us to this first Padlet - #InThisTogether! We are all facing challenges in our new world reality of social distancing; our connections to our family and friends are diminished, and many of our typical outings beyond our homes are temporarily eliminated. For some students, learning is a significant effort when we are in school - so doing it from home may seem an insurmountable task. But this does not have to be the case! Let’s learn from our Peanuts friends (you’ll learn I’m a huge fan) that learning can be an exiting new adventure! You may learn material in ways you never imagined and do projects/assignments you never thought possible. And with a deep breath and an open mind - you may even ENJOY IT :) To students - you are NOT alone - all of the adults around you are learning new ways to work from home as well as how to be teachers; and teachers are learning new technology, and ways to connect with students.
Takeaway for the day...YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We are all part of a new adventure :)
Be safe and well...

*IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are experiencing emotional distress, please reach out to any member of the PPS Staff via email and someone can assist you. For immediate emotional/medical assistance in a crisis, please dial 911 or your local emergency services.
