A boy named Stanley was taken to Camp Green Lake for 18 months, so he didn't have to go to jail. Stanley made a few friends there at Camp Green Lake. One of his friends named Zero, didn't know how to read and Stanley had taught Zero how to read because Zero got made fun of by the other boys. When Zero got more knowledge, Mr. P, Mr. Sir, and the warden found out that Stanley had been teaching Zero, they decided to quiz Zero. None of the counselors or the warden didn't believe them because they thought Zero was to stupid to learn. But, Zero said most of the words right except for one, and then everyone started laughing at him. Zero had hit Mr. P with his shovel because he said that Zero was to stupid to lean anything and that the only thing he would ever be good at. Zero ran off after he hit Mr. P with his shovel. Stanley wanted to go find Zero, so he did. Stanley found Zero just a few days after he ran off. Stanley and Zero became rich. The warden was taken to jail. Camp green lake closed after the police and lawyers came.

Stanley would always blame the bad luck on his great-great-grandfather because his great-great-grandfather stole a pig from Madame Zeroni and she put a curse on him and his whole family, so it passed down to Stanley.

When Stanley was digging, he found Kissin' Kate Barlow's lipstick tube, then gave it to X-Ray. Zero hit Mr. P in the head with his shovel. Zero ran off after he hit Mr. P in the head.

Stanley wanted to look for Zero, so he took Mr. Sir's truck and drove off to go look. When Stanley was driving he crashed into a hole. Stanley found Zero not to long after he crashed the truck into the hole.

Falling action:

Stanley found Zero and took him back to camp green lake. A lizard "attacked" Stanley and Zero, but it didn't hurt them. Stanley's lawyers came.

Stanley and Zero both made it back to Camp Green Lake. The warden ended up in jail. Stanley and Zero became rich. Camp Green Lake closed.

I loved the novel Holes, it was my favorite book we have read so far. I would give it a 10/10. I think this book is worth reading.

My favorite part of this story was when Stanley went looking for Zero before it was too late because I thought it was nice of Stanley too look for him since he could've died if Stanley didn't come help him.
