They settled in Long Island, New York, and that's where Natalie grew up.</p><p>Natalie was always interested in acting and performing. She started taking acting lessons at a young age and even appeared in some local shows. Her big break came when she was only 12 years old, and she got the role of Mathilda in the movie "Leon: The Professional." People were really impressed with her talent, and she quickly became a rising star in Hollywood.</p><p>As she grew older, Natalie continued to act in many successful movies, like "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace," where she played Queen Amidala. She even won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie "Black Swan."</p><p>What makes Natalie Portman extra special is that she wasn't originally from the United States.
