I think it is a bad thing that children depend on technology to learn because they feel like they can not learn or do anything without some type of technology. Students used to only do work with paper and pencil and everyone was okay with that, but once technology came into the picture they no longer wanted to work with paper and pencil. I think we are to attached to technology and we are afraid of giving it up because they are no longer able to look up their answers or get distracted about things.
-Makayla Wright

I believe that some students are really tied to working on a tablet or something else that is electronic. I also think that students should still rely on pencil and paper for completing their assignments.

I think that it is a dangerous thing that children depend upon technology to learn things. We should always teach them different ways to obtain information because there will be times that technology will crash, and they will need to know how to function without it. We need to open them up to a world full of opportunities.

"Depending" on technology is definitely a problem. Students should be able to obtain information from multiple resources, not just technology. Relying on tablets and smart phones will hurt children more than benefit them.

I think that there is a healthy level of technology dependency. Technology has the ability to engage a student in ways that traditional teaching does not. Technology allows students to find different ways to learn, play games that hold educational value and see application and simulations through video as well as so many other benefits. I do think that it has its cons, though. Being too dependent on technology can leave a student feeling unable to learn any other way. When technology fails to function properly, those students find it almost impossible to learn.

I do not think it is good that students depend on internet to learn things. Having internet is expensive and not many can afford to have it 24/7 at their own house. Also having students focus on their devices can damage eye vision. Students should learn from books and handouts too.

I have mixed feelings about young children and technology. I see both sides of the issue here. I think that if we limit the amount of time a child spends using technology and make sure that it is for educational purposes, then technology is a great way for students to learn!

I do not agree with using technology as the sole tool for teaching students. There will be times that the technology isn't available and students will not no how to find information any other way. I think in our classrooms today, there has to be a good mixture of traditional teaching methods and technology.
