When the jury announced the verdict of not guilty for Steve, this reminded me of O.J Simpson's verdict. King's attitude also reminded me of O.J's. They both seemed unfazed by the situation in my memory. Even though both of the lawyers of those proven innocent had different opinions on their clients, the verdict of both were still innocent.

Both of the defense and the prosecution sum up their explanation for a verdict.

Briggs defense:
He says that Bobo shouldn't be testifying because of his character. He isn't a good person, he's a drug dealer that's already been sent to jail. He said that when Mrs. Henry chose King from the lineup, she could have chosen because she remembered seeing him in the drugstore, or because of the pictures the police showed her.

O'Brien's defense:
She says that the State doesn't even suggest that Steve was in the store during the robbery, that he didn't talk about it to King or Bobo or Osvaldo and that he didn't give any signal. Even Mrs. Henry didn't see him in the store, she just saw King. She also adds like Briggs that they shouldn't believe in Bobo's testimony because Steve's just another "getover" for Bobo. She tells the jury to compare Steve's character to everyone else who testified, he seemed quite different.

Petrocelli's explanation:
She says that the defense is more focusing on the people who testified than the actual murder. Everyone's testimony backed up someone else's. She says that they're all equally guilty, no matter of their participation to the robbery.

King has been found guilty and Steve's been found not guilty. King was sentenced for 25 years to life. Steve's father is no longer sure of Steve. After the case, O'Brien turned away from Steve.
