Many Asylum-Seekers have already a tough time fitting in and finding help when entering the U.S , but if they find a way to manage living in the U.S, there still is one thing in the way, the application. According to an article by Independent "Home Office immigration statistics released today alongside the ONS figures show that grants of asylum to main applicants and dependants have fallen by 9 per cent in the year to september 2017, while the number of people granted permission to stay permanently was down 5 per cent. " (Mary Bulman) this article shows how the acceptance rate is actually doing down, it may not be a drastic percent but that percent does matter.
