The majority of my peers were initially strangers to me. We recorded one another's posture, expressions and listened to a song from the soundtrack of their lives. At the time, I didn't think any of my drawings were any "good". However, I realise I captured some kind of essence of each of my peers proving to me a drawing can feel different each time we look upon it. I have met so many like minded individuals on this module - it is an experience I will cherish and reflect upon moving forward with my practice. Each one still unique and a trace of the landscape which existed before. The main drivers of deforestation in Scotland are as follows ; animal agriculture, logging and mining. Often, the causes of ecological collapse can feel far away in distant lands. We followed the rhythms of different meditative breathing techniques and it was fascinating to see how each of the group responded. I enjoyed this so much that I chose to include it at the beginning of my own sensory drawing workshop with my MFA classmates. This was something I was considering prior to the session during drawing ecologies so it was incredibly beneficial to experience this initially for myself. This learning will remain a point of reference as I continue to navigate and evolve throughout my wider practice.
