         <description><![CDATA[<div>Learning Objectives<br><br>By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:<br><br>• Recognize, recall, and define the various tenses in English<br>• Describe the uses of each tense<br>• Estimate when each tense should be used<br>• Select the correct tense when writing sentences<br>• Match sentences with the correct tense<br>• Translate sentences from their native language into English using the appropriate tense<br><br>Differentiation<br><br>For English as an Additional Language (EAL) students, it is important to provide additional support and guidance to ensure that material is being understood and used correctly. The following strategies can be used to differentiate for EAL learners:<br><br>• Provide visuals to illustrate tense changes (i.e. pictures, diagrams, etc.)<br>• Break down complex concepts into more manageable chunks<br>• Provide additional examples and explanations<br>• Allow plenty of time for practice and review<br>• Provide more frequent feedback<br>• Provide additional resources and materials to help EAL learners understand the material<br><br>Grammar<br><br>• Review the various tenses in English: present simple, present continuous, past simple, past continuous, future simple, future continuous, and present perfect.<br><br>• Select examples of sentences written in each of the tenses. Ask students to Label each sentence with the correct tense.<br><br>• Extend the activity by having students Extend the sentences to create a story or narrative and rewrite the sentences using different tenses.<br><br>• Distinguish between tenses and practice converting sentences from one tense to another.<br><br>• Explain when to use each tense. Ask students to Give examples of sentences using each tense.<br><br>• Ask students to Express their understanding of each tense by Inferring the meaning of sentences written in different tenses.<br><br>• Have students Duplicate the sentences using the correct tense and Relate the sentences to their own lives.<br><br>• Arrange sentences in the correct order and Discuss the use of each tense in everyday language.<br><br>• Identify, Describe, and Predict the correct tense for various samples of sentences.<br><br>• Estimate the meaning of sentences written in different tenses and Match sentences to their correct tense.<br><br>• Repeat the sentences using the correct tense and Paraphrase the sentences to demonstrate understanding.<br><br>• Select and Translate sentences from their native language into English using the appropriate tense.<br><br>• Defend their understanding of tenses by Recognizing the differences between various tenses.<br><br>• Memorize the different tenses and Recall when each should be used.<br><br>• Define the various tenses and Summarize the differences between them.<br><br>• Classify sentences according to the tense used and Name the correct tense.<br><br>• Indicate the correct tense for various sentences and Outline the use of each tense.<br><br>• Order sentences according to the tense used and List the various tenses in English.</div>]]></description>
